What is Minoxidil for Women?

Minoxidil for women is the first pharmaceutical treatment clinically proven to have therapeutic activity on hereditary hair loss. Globally, more than 5 million adults have used minoxidil solution. Following a survey of 7,000 users, 80% of them said it had stimulated hair growth.

What is the Mode of Action for Minoxidil for Women?

Minoxidil for women contains the active ingredient minoxidil, which revives hair follicles, causing them to move from a resting phase to a stage of growth.

Researchers consider that minoxidil solution works by stimulating blood flow to the scalp cells responsible for hair growth, but it may also increase the number of these cells.

Daily use of minoxidil for women was shown to prevent hereditary hair loss in 4 out of 5 men in just four months. After 12 months of use, a medium or high regrowth was observed in 50% of users.

How Can Minoxidil for Women Help You?

Extensive medical research has shown that minoxidil for women has therapeutic action on hereditary hair loss. However, the causal factors of hair loss are numerous and women’s minoxidil solution does not fit all and everyone. It is better, first and foremost, to ask these questions before you decide whether you should use minoxidil women:

  • Do you have a family history of hair loss?
  • Is your hair thinner?
  • Your hair loss, is it on the front of the skull, with a widening of the median line?
  • Are you over 18?

An affirmative answer to these questions indicates that your hair loss may be hereditary in nature and minoxidil for women could meet your needs. It is not recommended to use minoxidil solution in the presence of a sudden hair loss or hair on the body surface. Minoxidil should not be used when hair loss occurs in patches and is due to inflammation of the scalp or other causal factors such as a thyroid disorder, or if the hair loss
is due to a recent birth. If you experience an occurrence of such signs of alopecia (hair loss), it is recommended that your consult your doctor.

Do not use minoxidil for women if:

  • You are under the age of 18.
  • You have previously had hypersensitivity reactions (allergic) to any of the constituents of Minoxidil®.
  • You use prescription medications on the scalp.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
